Anniversary Getaway

Finally able to get some pictures up of our trip to Cancun last week! Couldn't have wanted a more perfect time of the year to go on a vacation. Since Tyson and I both just graduated and have started new jobs, we were in desperate need to take a break from everything and spend a week together doing nothing except enjoying every moment on the beach celebrating our ONE YEAR Anniversary!!!! I feel like it was just yesterday we were in San Diego with all our family and friends on our wedding day. What I would do to relive that day again.  This past year has been by far the best and most fun year of my life being a wifey to my oh so handsome husband and can't wait for more to come!! Click here to see the latest video on how we celebrated that day!

HIDDEN TREASURE

This weekend Tyson and I along with my sister Whitney, her husband Chad and their two kids drove up the American Fork Canyon to our absolute favorite spot to be outdoors. No matter what time of year you come here, it is always so beautiful! Tibble Fork Reservoir was the happening spot on Saturday afternoon.  Lots of people were out hiking, rafting, skipping rocks, reading books, and taking bridals. If you live in Utah and haven't been here before...make it a priority!

Cole's favorite thing to do is to throw rocks in the water and let me tell ya...he did that the WHOLE entire time we were there.  It is the cutest thing to see how excited he gets to look for the perfect rocks or sticks. It was such a fun afternoon to be outdoors and I have to say that Whitney and Chad are pretty hardcore because nothing stops them or limits them from having fun even with a one month old baby and a two year old. They scaled a mountain, climbed up and over rocks, and crossed the river on a log holding their kids...and baby Davis just slept through it all!  If there are any of your favorite hidden spots that are outdoors here in Utah, let us know!!

DIY: SPRING

So I have to say that last night was the most crafty I have ever gotten!  Maybe you can relate, but I'm the type of person that would rather have someone else do my crafts for me, or buy something already put together.  I normally don't have the patience to do bigger projects but I need to start doing them more often because the end results are totally worth it!  I'm so glad my mother-in-law Tanya got us girls all together last night to do some DIY spring/Easter decorations.  She was at The Wood Connection Store when she came across the cutest letters to decorate!  She picked up the "EASTER" block letters and then I had Tyson go get me the "SPRING" letters that were just a solid wood. Here are the steps if you want to do your own!

1. Sand the letters down to make painting easier (thanks Kenz)
2. Trace the letters onto scrapbook paper
3. Paint the sides and backs of letters
4. While those are drying completely, cut out the letters from scrapbook paper
5. Using a modge-podge glue, paint the front of the wooden blocks and stick the paper to the front
6. Use an exacto knife to trim any of the edges.

Love having a touch of Spring finally in my house! Go get yours done now!

VDAY RECAP: CORAL PINK SAND DUNES

TANK: gap LEGGINGS: target GLASSES: husband's

This month for Valentine's Day Tyson and I randomly decided to go stay in Kanab, UT for the weekend.  I know I know...what the heck is there to do in Kanab, right?  Well it turned out to be the perfect location for everything we were wanting to do!! How appropriate is it to go start out our Valentines Day at the Coral Pink Sand Dunes!?  I've always wanted to go check this place out and we absolutely loved it! We were really wishing we could've rented some four wheelers but April is the first month of the year for that.  So we just took off our shoes and went hiking barefoot out to the highest dune we could see in the most squishy, soft sand.  The weather was so warm so we layed out our towel and soaked up the sun, took some pics, and watched Tyson fly the drone.  Then a big group of people came riding up on their four wheelers and parked right by us.  One thing led to another and next thing we knew we were out riding!  They were such nice people for letting us strangers go for a ride and it definitely made our day.  I feel so lucky to have such an awesome Valentine that I get to spend every moment with.  No matter what we are doing, I just love to be with him.  It is always an adventure and I am so truly grateful for our amazing marriage.
