DIY: SPRING

So I have to say that last night was the most crafty I have ever gotten!  Maybe you can relate, but I'm the type of person that would rather have someone else do my crafts for me, or buy something already put together.  I normally don't have the patience to do bigger projects but I need to start doing them more often because the end results are totally worth it!  I'm so glad my mother-in-law Tanya got us girls all together last night to do some DIY spring/Easter decorations.  She was at The Wood Connection Store when she came across the cutest letters to decorate!  She picked up the "EASTER" block letters and then I had Tyson go get me the "SPRING" letters that were just a solid wood. Here are the steps if you want to do your own!

1. Sand the letters down to make painting easier (thanks Kenz)
2. Trace the letters onto scrapbook paper
3. Paint the sides and backs of letters
4. While those are drying completely, cut out the letters from scrapbook paper
5. Using a modge-podge glue, paint the front of the wooden blocks and stick the paper to the front
6. Use an exacto knife to trim any of the edges.

Love having a touch of Spring finally in my house! Go get yours done now!

Hayley

DIY Fall Wreath

WREATH: pinterest

My sisters and I have always talked about how one day when we grow up,we are all going to live on the same cul de sac together.  That seemed to be wishful thinking since we all are at different stages in our lives and even different states.  Well about a week ago my oldest sister Whitney and her family moved to Utah from California and now lives just 5 minutes away from me, same city, same offramp. My other sister Alyssa just lives a quick 10 minute drive up the freeway also.  This is the closest we have all lived together since we were all living under one roof.  I'm so excited to have them close to do fun Sunday crafts together like we did today to decorate our houses.  Now that we are getting close to the fall season, what better way to start it off then making a wreath1?  We hit up Hobby Lobby yesterday with different ideas we liked from pinterst and attempted making our own today! This was my first wreath I've made and had so much fun doing it so here's some pictures of what we came up with! Happy DIYing!
