OPINION ON SLEEP TRAINING

OK how cute are these Milestone cards!?  I love having cute ways to document the milestones that come from my baby's first year of life and they even have a spot for you to write in the date.  You can click this link here to get yourself free printables!

This past week has had a big milestone for this tired momma.  We have finally taken the Doctor's advice now that he is over 6 months old to sleep train Nixon.  I was nervous about doing this because I hate not comforting Nixon when he is crying. Tyson was able to take the heat of it and try this out when I was working a night shift since he knew it would be hard on me.  Luckily, Nixon has adapted so well!  We told ourselves from the beginning that if he were to cry for close to an hour then we would go in and get him.  Those first two night he would cry maybe 20 minutes and then fall back to sleep. Ever since then he sometimes will occasionally wake up and cry for maybe 5 minutes before he goes back to sleep.  And we even had a night where he didn't wake up at all till 7 in the morning!!! I can't even tell you how amazing it feels to finally feel rested.  I have more energy during the day and feel like a much happier wife and mom. I make sure that at night I feed Nixon baby food, bathe him, and then nurse him so that he has a nice full belly to last him till the morning. I am so glad we opted in for the sleep training method because it not only helps us as the parents, but it also is what the baby needs!  We are doing our baby a favor by teaching them how to get the full nights rest that they need for their growing body.  I really did doubt that it was going to work for us since Nixon has been an AWFUL sleeper up until this point.  But it WORKED!  Hallelujah!!! Here's to more full nights sleep from here on out.

Hayley

  1. So happy you are getting some much needed rest! My little guy is almost 6 months and is an awful sleeper. Would you mind elaborating on what method you used for sleep training?

  2. CIO is awful and inhumane. That just teaches your baby that they can't trust you anymore, that crying for their mom doesn't work anymore, so of course they will stop crying eventually! They fall asleep because they exhaust themselves from the stress of crying!! Babies are SUPPOSED TO wake up at night! THEY'RE BABIES. it's part of parenthood!! I can't even imagine how you feel okay about doing this to your child.

    1. I can't even imagine how you feel ok about making these comments to me. You obviously have not had any children and if you do, you do not understand what is best for your child and yourself. And if you do, I can't believe you would ever say these things to another fellow mother who is doing their absolute best in raising a child and being the best mom I can be. A mom who works 12 hours through the night so I can be with my baby while he's awake in the day. A mom who goes without sleep when I get home from work at 6 am because I want to be with my baby in the morning when he wakes up. A mom who will sacrifice anything and everything to give my baby all I can in life. To be that best mom, my baby is now able to sleep through the night and be happier than ever when he wakes up in the morning to see me. I'm able to feel well rested as well during those nights Which allow me more energy to play with him all throughout the day. How sick of you to say such hurtful things. How sick.

  5. Paintless dent removal is a good idea for those who have minor dents or dings they want to remove from their vehicle. It doesn't require major body work, and in most cases you can have your car back in as little as a day as opposed to several days to weeks with major body work. The cost is also much lower since the overhead is lower. There are some instances where paintless dent removal isn't possible. If you have a simple dent you want to have pulled out, here are a few things to consider. https://www.redhotauto.net/

  6. Paintless dent removal is one of the most popular methods of body repair for door dings and minor dents. Although costs vary depending on the number, location, and severity of the dents in your vehicle's body, most charges come in at less than half of what you can expect to pay at traditional body shops. With the economy in a downward slump and vehicle repair costs often putting car owners behind on other bills, paintless dent repair is a great way to restore your car's finish without breaking the bank.
